How do I improve battery life?

How to Maximize Angel Watch™ Battery Life

Get the most out of your Angel Watch™ battery with the tips below.

1. Adjust the Location Update Schedule (Most Important)

The single biggest factor affecting battery life is how often the watch updates its location. More frequent GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular location checks will drain the battery faster.
For most everyday use, it’s best to use on-demand or power-saving modes and manually check the location only when needed.

Android App Options:

  • Sleep Mode – Manually obtain position (Default)
  • *Power Saving Mode – Updates every hour
  • *Normal Mode – Updates every 10 minutes

iOS App Options:

  • Power Saving – On-Demand Position (Default)
  • *Everyday Mode – Updates every hour
  • *Outdoor Mode – Updates every 10 minutes

If you need location history or geofencing (for example, while your child is biking or playing outside), temporarily switch to a more frequent update mode and switch back afterward.

2. Be Efficient With Features

To extend battery life when needed:

  • Reduce screen brightness
  • Turn off Wi-Fi when not in use
  • Keep Bluetooth turned off if not required
  • Limit video calls, as they are battery-intensive

3. Avoid Fully Draining the Battery

When you see the battery getting low, plug it in as soon as possible.
Regularly letting the battery drain to 0% will cause it to degrade faster over time and reduce its ability to hold a charge.

4. Don’t Leave the Battery Dead for Long Periods

Leaving the watch fully depleted for long periods can cause the battery to enter a deep discharge state, making it harder to recharge later.
For long-term storage:

  • Charge the watch to around 50%
  • Power it off
  • Store it in a cool, dry place
  • Every few months, turn it on and top the battery back up to 50%

This is healthier for lithium-ion batteries than storing them at 0% or 100%.

5. Avoid Extreme Temperatures

Extreme temperatures can damage battery health.

  • Heat above 95°F (35°C) can permanently reduce battery capacity
  • Cold temperatures may temporarily reduce performance

The optimal operating temperature for Angel Watch™ is:
62°F – 72°F (16°C – 22°C)

Following these tips will help your Angel Watch™ maintain strong battery performance and extend its overall lifespan.
