Get the most out of your Angel Watch battery by following the tips below:
1. Adjust Your Location Update Schedule
The most impactful way to improve battery life is by adjusting the Location Update Schedule in the Angel Watch™ app.
The more frequently the watch requests its location from satellites and cell towers, the faster the battery will drain.
On Android:
- Sleep Mode – Manually obtain position
- Power Saving Mode – Updates every hour
- Normal Mode – Updates every 10 minutes
On iOS:
- Power Saving Mode – On-demand position
- Everyday Mode – Updates every hour
- Outdoor Mode – Updates every 10 minutes
For most day-to-day use, we recommend Sleep Mode (Manually obtain position) / Power Saving (On-Demand). This allows you to request the watch’s location whenever needed without constant background updates.
If you need location history or geo-fencing—for example, when your child is biking around the neighborhood or spending time at the park—set the watch to update its location more frequently. Please note that this will use more battery.
2. Be Efficient With Power Usage
- Reduce the screen brightness
- Keep video calls to a minimum whenever possible, as they consume a lot of power
3. Avoid Fully Draining the Battery
When you notice the battery is running low, plug the watch in as soon as possible.
Consistently allowing the battery to drain to 0% can cause long-term degradation and reduce how well it holds a charge.
4. Don’t Leave the Battery Depleted for Long Periods
Leaving the watch dead for extended periods can cause the battery to enter a deep discharge state, making it difficult to charge in the future.
For long-term storage:
- Charge the watch to about 50%
- Power it off before storing
- Every few months, turn it on and top the battery back up to 50%
This charge level is healthiest for lithium-ion batteries and helps preserve battery life over time.
5. Avoid Extreme Temperatures
Like most smart devices, the Angel Watch should not be exposed to extreme heat or cold.
- Temperatures above 95°F (35°C) can permanently reduce battery capacity
- Cold temperatures may temporarily reduce performance
The optimal temperature range for the battery is 62°F–72°F (16°C–22°C).
Following these recommendations will help maximize battery performance and extend the overall lifespan of your Angel Watch. If you need help adjusting any settings, we’re happy to assist.
