Why SMS Messaging Is Disabled on Angel Watch™
Traditional SMS (text) messages can pose security risks and cannot be fully filtered or blocked. If someone were to obtain the watch’s phone number and your child could interact with an SMS message, it could lead to unwanted conversations or potential security concerns.
For this reason, Angel Watch™ is designed to disable SMS messaging by default, prioritizing your child’s safety and privacy.
For the highest level of security, we recommend that trusted family members communicate using the Chat feature within the Angel Watch™ app. App-based messaging uses data, is encrypted, and allows secure communication between the watch and approved family members only.
If your child needs to communicate with others who should not have access to sensitive information such as location tracking, you may choose to install WhatsApp or LINE Lite from the watch’s app store. These apps operate independently from the Angel Watch™ app and do not share any private data such as location, remote monitoring, or watch settings.
